Page 5: Arabella was selfish

Arabella was lying on the floor….

Wearing last night’s lace black dress, her hair covered in throw up, and her make up smudged with tears.
It was her first party. The first time she was allowed to leave the house on her own.

Slowly she opened her eyes, and the lights were so bright burning her as if she was a vampire. She blinked a couple of times.

Suddenly the sounds faded in muffled but then loud and clear.

“Arabella! Arabella! Are you okay” a female voice shouted

Arabella was trying to speak but she couldn’t instead she moaned in agony.

Tears kept falling from Arabella’s face. She thought she was going to die.

Then the beautiful stranger that been shouting at her, with blond hair and the most beautiful blue eyes that wouldn’t dare harm anyone, took her to the bathroom cleaned her up and gave her water.

When Arabella, was finally able to speak softly she said.

“Thank you.. What’s your name.”

“Milena” the beautiful girl responded

“Why are you helping me? i thought you didn’t like me” Arabella exasperated now able to recall the first time they met.

“silly girl, that isn’t true” she scoffed “drink more water” she commanded

Arabella then stared into her eyes and saw the girls demise.

With a pain in her heart she decided it’s only fair she warned her

“you know, you are too kind, that is your fatal flaw and that will be your demise.”

she continued, “you shouldn’t befriend me and you should be mean from now on it’s the only way to save yourself.”

Arabella said as tears fell down her face, her gut told her something she didn’t want to believe, one day she will betray this kind girl. She just felt it, but she told herself it couldn’t be true.

Milena replied, with a scared expression “I don’t want to be mean, and i want to be your friend.”

This girl showed her a love she hadn’t felt in a very long time, for once Arabella didn’t need to drag herself out of the darkness. Yet her gut told her she will cause harm to this beautiful girl and to walk away.

Arabella, somehow believed she could defy fate, and stared into her eyes and accepted more water.

That day Milena and Arabella built an unbreakable bond.

Arabella sealed Milena’s fate, proving the sad phrase to be true

“what you love most, will kill you”
